Lower Shore Land Trust Names Jared Parks as Land Programs Manager

The Lower Shore Land Trust (LSLT) is pleased to announce that Jared Parks has recently been hired as the Land Programs Manager, a newly created position with the organization. Jared brings over 10 years of land trust experience to LSLT and will take over duties as the conservation easement planner and stewardship program manager.

Jared comes to LSLT from the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy (ESLC) located in Easton, MD. He spent nearly 11 years with ESLC first as a Land Protection Specialist then as the Conservation Easement Program Manager. While with ESLC Jared completed nearly 70 conservation projects preserving over 12,000 acres of land. Prior to working at ESLC, Jared held multiple field-based wildlife research positions largely focusing on population ecology and habitat management. He has worked in Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, and Wisconsin and has a B.A. in Anthropology from Lawrence University in Wisconsin and a Master’s of Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Originally from Chestertown, Jared currently lives in Church Hill with his partner Tara their cat, Seide, and Australian cattle dog, Cooper. They plan to move to the Lower Shore in the coming months.

“I am excited for this new opportunity. I look forward to working with Kate Patton, the LSLT Board, and Lower Shore landowners to protect working lands and the natural resources in such an iconic part of the state.”
