Indoor Composting Using Worm Power!
Lisa Murphy, 4-H STEM Agent Associate for the University of Maryland Extension will share her 6 years of experience in this introduction to year-round, indoor vermicomposting. You will discover why someone would have a bin o’ worms in their laundry room, how easy it can be to compost with worms and the benefits to you and the environment.
Learn about the wonderful product created by the worms used to grow healthy, strong plants and that gardeners refer to as “Black Gold”. Lisa will show you tools of vermicomposting; where to find red wigglers and ways to collect the worm castings. She will share resources to encourage you to learn more about starting your own indoor bin for fun or for profit.
All ages, especially children, have an innate curiosity about worms… making this a fun and educational activity for families.
